When I first read about last week's Daily Paintworks Challenge, "The Water Challenge", I immediately had 3 ideas pop into my head.  Painting the ocean, painting this still life and a painting of my daughter playing in the pool.  I didn't get to the last idea yet, but hope to paint it at some point.  Overall this was a fun piece to paint!

I painted another beach painting.  Started it yesterday, but only had a very short time to paint and so finished it today.  I still have a lot to learn about painting this type of scene but it was fun to change things up!

Painted for this week's Challenge- The Water Challenge.  Though I live in landlocked Oklahoma I love the beach.  Obviously, it is beautiful.  But it also reminds me of the bigness and faithfulness of God.  It was fun to paint...using my favorite colors.

#216 Swim Lessons

Not for Sale (6x6 inches)

My daughter has been taking swimming lessons this week and I'm so proud of her!  She started the week not wanting to put her face in the water and ended the week doing so well.  She loved it.  I took this picture of her and her teacher on Wednesday and painted it that evening.  It was a total experiment.  Not only was it figurative, but I had to paint people underwater...but I think it turned out pretty well...all things considered!
