I had a lot of fun painting these apples. I started by painting the apples first, then their shadows, the plate and finally the background. I wiped the panel once when I wasn't too far along because the colors were off. The second time, I wasn't sure how it was going to go either. The reflected light often looks out of place until I get the background in around it. In the end I tried to just trust the process and I'm glad I did.
